Smart Grid and renewable energy integration Laboratory: Is for studying technical issues and develop solutions for high penetration grid integration of solar technologies into the electric power system. Developing smart microgrid prototype, by establishing smart homes in a laboratory environment, and develop a simulation test bed which can be used to quantify and analyses the impact of the PV and the storage integration to the power grid, and the impact of the demand side management. 

Energy Storage Laboratories: The energy storage laboratories consists of world class dry rooms designed for cell fabrication laboratory and electrode design laboratory, electrochemistry & diagnostics laboratory to develop an understanding of the physical and chemical changes during electrode/electrolyte reactions, a synthesis & chemistry laboratory for new material development for electrodes, a furnace laboratory and a battery testing laboratory with appropriate furnaces and electronics. These laboratories are critical to the advancement of energy storage research to meet the energy challenges.
