The QEERI Air Quality Monitoring Network is made up of five fixed and one mobile station deployed around the Doha metropolitan area and is linked to the national monitoring network managed by the Ministry of Environment. Data from the stations is used to characterize ambient air quality within the different parts of Doha and to enable research in its human health impacts. Parameters measured at the stations include ozone, particulate matter, sulphur dioxide, methane, non-methane hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, oxides of nitrogen, standard meteorology and surface insolation. In addition, the mobile station temporarily houses analysers that measure short-lived intermediary by-products which time-varying concentrations provide important information about the chemistry of the local atmosphere.
