Professional Experience

Dr. Zaffou is a results-driven leader with focus on developing economic technologies and product solutions for customer needs. Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional and high performance teams. He has 10 years’ experience in applied R&D and technology development. Solid background in chemical engineering and business development. Dr. Zaffou’s research has been in the area of design and optimization of electrochemical systems for power generation, energy storage. His currently a principal scientist at Qatar Energy and Environment Research Institute (QEERI). Prior to joining QEERI in 2014, he was a technical leader at United Technologies Research Center (UTRC) where he led a number of programs both internally and with the US government (DOE, ARPA-E, DARPA, ARL, NRL) in the area of fuel cells, hydrogen storage, and flow batteries.
