Ben Figgis is a Research Program Manager with the Qatar Environment & Energy Research Institute at Qatar Foundation. He manages operations of the Solar Test Facility, an outdoor test site for PV and solar thermal technologies.
Ben helped establish and operate the STF from 2009 to 2014 with Chevron Qatar. For the five years before that, he was headed marketing of the Qatar Science & Technology Park.
After obtaining undergraduate engineering and science degrees at the University of Western Australian, he completed a Masters of Engineering by research at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. He then worked in the automotive industry in Australian and East Asia for General Motors and consulting firms.
